The latest from Campbell. Nearly home!!

On a mooring in the bay at Plockton, the place where hurricane Bertha, now run out of steam, has obviously decided to get rid of all remaining rainwater.

The trip around Scotland seems to have passed in a flash. Hugh McLean took over from Alan at Eyemouth just a week past Friday and since then we have been moving almost every day. We took a bit of a battering into a force 6 across the firths of Forth and Tay to Arbroath, getting into the marina at 8pm just before the harbourmaster closed the tidal
Lock gate. (Not because the tide was too low, you understand,  but because his shift was finished!)

But from there it was favourable winds and weather to Stonehaven, Pe'erheed, Banff and then over the Moray Firth to Wick, where we had a day off  and  managed to catch Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain in concert
Ian Ward joined us again for the scary trip across the Pentland Firth and the "Merry men of May" overfalls,  however we followed the Wick harbourmaster's advice (jist get th' tides and weather behind ye an ye'll get through wae yer slippers oan) and cruised through in brilliant sunshine at 10 knots with the tide, finally anchoring at Loch Erriboll after some 70 miles.

Cape Wrath was next, easy peasy in clear skies and light winds. We got to the little harbour in Loch Inver in mid afternoon and shared a wee hauf with Koen and Mieke from Ghent, who were returning from Orkney in a 23 foot trailer sailor! That put things in perspective.

Trying to outrun a gale that was promised but never came, Ian and I yesterday made the 65 miles to here, starting fair ending foul.____see photos._lochinver am, torridon pm

It is still chucking it down, however the drips appearing through the "waterproof" deck quickly become your little friends, to be welcomed rather than feared.

And, no, I don't think I have been on this boat too long.

The contributions to the charities www.justgiving.com/kumalie1 for MS and www.justgiving.com/kumalie2 for Brain Cancer Research keep rolling in and I'm extremely grateful for all your donations and general support.
Emailing has been difficult in many harbours but I will be able to thank you all personally when I get home in a couple of weeks.
